Matt Patrick (not his real name) of The 950 Lies and Plagiarizes

At first, Matt Patrick claims that it is a poem that he adapted.   I guess he doesn’t know that “adapting” something without crediting the source is plagiarism.   Later he says, “And then a very special, the night before Thanksgiving poem by yours truly.”

It’s not his poem.  He didn’t write it.

It’s a poem that has been around since 2000.  Yes, it has been passed around, but to claim that one wrote it is stealing.  People lose their jobs over that sort of thing.  Student get kicked out of school for it.  Hell, now the burden of proof is on the student.  Students have to prove through checker sites that they haven’t plagiarized.

But Matt Patrick?   He can claim someone’s writing without any consequence.   Yeah, he “adapted” it.  It’s a lie and thieving nonetheless.

And as an added insult, he revived the “Real American Hero” spot.  I guess he was drunk when everyone realized that it was in bad taste (i.e. during the Iraq war years) to use that jingle.

He was talking about being grateful and about how many people wanted to hear the poem.

He stole that poem and was not grateful enough to give attribution.

Happy Thanksgiving, Matt Patrick.

The Price of Getting Involved

I’ve been following the bears in Minnesota since I heard about them on Prairie Home Companion.

Today, the update was that a 3 year old female with an identification collar was shot and killed:

Gentle Jo was killed in Soudan, MN, last evening.  She made it into the forest before collapsing on the run from a shot through a lung.

Shoot first.  That’s it.

I don’t think that type of mentality will change in this country before I die.  I just hope that I can follow this little family for a year or so without any of them getting shot.

Weak Sauce

I don’t know if this sort of thing will continue to November.  If it does, it makes wingnuts look weak.

First it was Mitt Romney, as a FATHER, an adult, strapping his dog to the top of the family car.

Wingnuts fight back with ‘Obama ate dog’ .  It makes a difference that he was a kid and someone fed it to him.

Next, we find that Mitt Romney led a posse to forcibly pin down a classmate and cut the guy’s hair — because the guy wasn’t conforming.  At the time, Romney was old enough to go fight in Vietnam.  Romney claims not to remember anything about it and offers a weasel apology — the If anyone was offended type of apology.  Weak. Sauce.

Rush Limbaugh “fights” back with a story from Obama’s own book, where he, Obama, admits pushing a girl in middle school.  The book has been out for a long time.  The only people who are surprised by any of these revelations are wingnuts.

The  take away:  wingnuts are remedial readers, at best.

Michael Berry Still Lying about Sal Guinta and his Medal of Honor Ceremony, still no Price to Pay for It

I missed this when it was posted, but Michael Berry is still trying to squeeze every bit of a hero out for his own benefit:

Michael’s Interview With SSgt Sal Giunta

It’s not an interview.  It’s just the same old nonsense.
I’ve gotten steady hits for my proof that Michael Berry has been lying.  It’s only a matter of time before this lie is put to rest.
But why hasn’t Berry paid any price for lying?

“Each case is different and the circumstances are considered separately”

Obviously.

Last December at about 8:00 p.m. (temperature around 40 degrees), a couple of toddlers were spotted alone in a car.  Shortly after, the children’s grandmother returned from shopping at Walmart and was arrested.

Yesterday at about 12:30 p.m. (temperature around 84 degrees), a couple of infants were spotted alone in a car.  The owner of the gun shop where the car was parked asked all his customers again and again if they were their children.  Almost an hour passed and a man who had been in the shop the entire time walked out to the car.  The infants were allowed to go home with the man.

Indeed, each case is “different.”

Dick Cheney Coward Who Knew?

I’m sure all of the chicken-hawks crowing about Marines and their guns are fully behind Dick Cheney finding Canada too dangerous to visit.

Wankers.

The Reason the GOP is So Insistent on Voter Suppression

They can’t even run their own party elections right.

Remember, they screwed Santorum.  Remember they screwed up in Maine.  That’s just off the top of my head.  Why on earth do we elect them to take care of voting here in Texas when they can’t even secure the property?

This Shit is Serious

You know Clear Channel is shaking in its boots when they pull both Michael Berry’s Facebook and Twitter spots.  (Clear Channel makes their personalities flog those two links like nothing else.)

I wouldn’t be surprised if the man is wiped clean from the KTRH site by the morning.  You know, like Clear Channel did with Chris Baker 🙂

This couldn’t have happened to a more deserving person.

Riddle Me This

Barack Obama’s dad wasn’t born in the USA.  Mitt Romney’s dad wasn’t either.

So beyond the birther thing, why is Obama a Kenyan and Romney not a Mexican?

For the GOP, seriously, which is worse?  They hate anyone not from the South and they hate all of us from the South who don’t agree with them.

They — the GOP — are narrowing it so much that no one can agree with them.

I quite like that.  And I like the fact that Michael Berry is having to fight off Mormons.  Just wait until they find Joe Pags. . . wait, perhaps I should call in tomorrow morning.  It’s an idea.

Amazingly, the Republicans Kept Their Own in Line

It probably helped that the conservative SCOTUS people skipped it.  I’m sure they had better things to do.

The old white guys on the channel I was watching immediately complained about taxes.  Sigh.  Poor little old white guys pay more in taxes that most people earn from their labor.  When will this get old?

It’s clear that they only listened to what applied to them.  It’s also clear that they think everyone listening to them are JUST LIKE THEM when it is clear that is not true.

Mitch (Arab) Daniels was just terrible.  I can’t believe that he said that the president’s family was an “example that was needed” or some such.  Oh, really Mitch, given your family issues?  Really?  Perhaps all blacks should follow your model.  ASSHOLE.
