Questioning the Carjacking? Why didn’t KHOU Dig into Councilman Michael Berry’s Preposterous Claim? Hmm, Shern-Min Chow?

Tonight Shern-Min Chow looked more closely into a local football coach’s claim that he was shot in an attempted carjacking.  It doesn’t look good, according to her.  And there are some problems with his “story” that she asked his players about.  The coach is black.

Back in the day, when Michael Berry was a City Councilman, he claimed to have gotten carjacked.  He called the police after he supposedly fought off three armed carjackers, only to have his car found at an apartment complex a few minutes away.  I’ve always speculated that Berry was just drunk and called police because he couldn’t find his car.  Perhaps if Shern-Min Chow had investigated it, she would have found Berry having a fling at the complex where his car was found.

We’ll never know.

  1. How funny. Got any more?

  2. So are you saying that the coach’s story does not check out because he is black?

  3. So your are saying his story should not be questioned because he is black.

  4. Then what does he being black have to do with anything?

  5. Did she say that he was attacked because he was black? I thought you were the one who brought up his being black.

  6. No. I was simply looking at why the media is questioning this person’s story and not Michale Berry’s.

Did you know that Berry didn’t even call the police until he was back at home?

But this coach gets shot in a carjacking and the media has to question it.

Why do you think there is a difference?

  7. I really don’t know nor care about either. Just wonder why you were making it a race issue.

  8. Did know it was a game, just wonering why race was so important to you.

  9. Good deal, thank you.
