Meanwhile, another Texas asshole John Cornyn convinced me to give to Moveon.org for the first time ever. His little minority stopped anything meaningful from passing the senate this past week, but give the guy a camera and microphone, and he’s off. Also, I know I’m not the only one who feels this way. Its seems that MoveOn.org has raised over $500K this week. Well done Republicans!
NOW was interesting tonight. Hopefully I’ll have time tomorrow to look into it a bit more. It was about micro-lending and a group from Mexico making some remarkably large profits from it.
Lastly, this tip from commenters at John Cole’s Balloon-Juice: A group calling themselves “Gathering of Eagles” rescued the photograph of a Marine killed in Iraq from being held hostage by . . . the Marine’s father. Here’s a link to one of the rescuers. (It’s a forum — scroll to 8:36 a.m. 9-18-07 post by ‘Spockwasright’ — it’s the part in italics. Pics here. Reportedly, the Marine’s father, Carlos Arredondo, was beaten, including being kicked in the head. That’s no big deal, right? I’ve been kicked in the head a couple of times. It tickled.
